la semaine dernière nous sommes allés visiter St Andrew , une ville au nord ouest de l Ecosse dans la région de Five.
je me suis enfin trouve le cadeau que je recherche depuis tres longtemps
un petite assiette en porcelaine avec l histoire du Chardon: pourquoi le chardon est l' emblème de l Ecosse
La Légende du Chardon
Le roi Alexandre III chassait l' arme du Roi Haakon IV pendant la bataille de Largs en 1263. La legende dit que les Vikings voulaient surprendre l'armee Ecossaise pendant la nuit avançant pied nue, l un d eux a marchait sur un chardon. Son cris de douleur a alertaient l' armée écossaise qui a son tour a chasse les Vikings dehors de l'Ecosse.
Depuis ce jours le Chardon est devenu l ' Emblème de l' Ecosse
maintenant vous connaissait un peu de notre histoire a la prochaine pour une autre petite histoire comme cela

last week we decided to go to St Andrew to visit the town.
i finialy found the gift i was looking for sometime.
it is a little procelaine plate with "The Legend of the Thistle"
the legend said :
The Scots King Alexander III routed the army of the Viking Haakom IV at the battle of the largs in 1263. legend has it that the Vikings were intent on surprising the Scottish army under cover of darkness, Adc=vancing barefoot, one of them trod on a Thistle. his cry of pain alerted the SCots, who fell upon the invaders, driving them back into their logships.
from that day the Thistle was adopted as the Emblem of Scotland
now you know why the Thistle is the scottish emblem
